As a member of Penn State, you never have to pay for a resource using Google Scholar. By simply going into the settings and selecting Library Links, you can search for Penn State University. Make sure the box is checked, and then search for Open WorldCat. Check that box as well.
If you're doing this on a computer on campus, like I did in this demo, these boxes may already be checked or will show up automatically. It is important that you save these settings before you close the session. If the settings do not save over multiple sessions, you need to check your cookies setting. Let's go ahead and search for gender and adoption of children.
You should see some results that have Get It at Penn State to the right. By clicking on this link, you'll be connecting to your university library account so that you can access the full text if it is available, or request the item through interlibrary loan. Journal articles that we don't own access to will be posted electronically on your Illiad account.
If the resource does not have a Get It at Penn State feature, you can record all possible information about the resource and request it through interlibrary loan.
